Miles to go before I knit

New yarn arrived Tuesday night. So last night was spent pondering what I should make while I was balling up miles of pretty yarn (literally miles. Lisa Souza sells lace weight yarn in hanks of 2520 yards, which is around a mile and a half of yarn.) Lovely stuff, I can't wait to get it into a ball so I can work with it because hanks and I have this hate/hate relationship where if I even look at one funny it gets tangled. And untangling over a mile of yarn just doesn't sound like something I want to be doing, no matter how pretty it is!

This one has been well behaved though so I can't complain. I still need to figure out what to do with the lace weight silk/mohair blend that I got from her. Most of my knitting consists of making things for other people but that one is MINE, do you hear me? MINE!!!!!

Ahem...yeah, so I'm excited.

Breaking yarn is hard to view

So, um...had a bit of a disaster with the shawl as the yarn got caught in between the needle and cord (I'm using circulars with interchangable cords and occasionally they start to unscrew) and the yarn broke in the middle of the row and immediately started to unravel to both sides.

Amazingly enough I didn't throw it across the room, scream or otherwise do more than swear.

Not too big of a disaster since I did have a life line and ripped back the four rows I'd done but I now have to pick up stitches and figure out where my markers go again. I'm thinking I may wait to do it as I'll have new and shiny yarn arriving this week that I had been thinking about redoing the shawl in so I'll evaluate that yarn and decide if it will work. If it does I may just start a new one and go back to this one when that one is done.

Not much going on...kind of glad I didn't do much knitting over the weekend since it would have sucked far more if I'd been close to the end of the pattern repeat. Instead I went and bought art and actually did errands and the like. Shocking, I know.
