I haven't disappeared completely
I feel kind of like tapping the mic here and asking if anyone's home but it's not really fair since I haven't been either *laugh* It was a rather busy week last week including American Idol (of which I am this show's bitch, sad to say) and then sinus death plague near the end of the week. Happily I'm...well, not really that recovered but I have new yarn and fabulous pizza so all is at least sort of well with the world.
During the busy-ness I did manage to get another two and a half color changes on the blanket done so it's coming along fairly nicely. Still not entirely happy with the colors but after about almost three feet of blanket knitting you just don't want to rip it out and start again. You just give it to someone who has to smile nicely like they like it if you hate it at the end, right? *grin*
I've started teach my sort of but not really teenage roommate to knit and he has already cursed me once saying he kind of liked it. Only got as far as casting on and knit stitch but I expect to start him on the obligatory scarf this week unless he decides he's being far too unmanly. And more importantly I got rid of some awful acrylic yarn that I bought when I started out that I hate now!
Not much else to note now. I went to a craft fair yesterday and pondered the feasibility of learning to weave....most of the knitted stuff there was obviously machine knit or very dull patterns. However I did pick up a lovely silvery blueish-green silk/mohair blend that I now have to figure out something to do with. It's a little light weight for a guy's scarf in my opinion.

I have yarn envy. Silk/mohair, huh?
Mohair tip #1, if you must frog, stick it in the freezer for an hour.
#2, do not knit in hot, humid weather.
#3, on second thought, you really shouldn't be knitting with mohair, not with your allergies. I really think you need to send all the mohair to me and I'll make sure it's safely disposed of. To keep you, um. Safe. Yeah.
